Filing Deadlines

Bill 54: Election Statutes Amendment Act impacts all provincial electoral legislation. This page is being updated to reflect the new legislation, and as such the information below may be outdated.

The Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act (EFCDA), Citizen Initiative Act and Recall Act specify the financial reports that must be filed by political participants.

Late filing fees automatically apply for failing to file on time.

Some political participants are required to file audited financial statements with their financial report.  An “audited financial statement” means a financial statement that has been independently audited by a professional accounting firm registered under the Chartered Professional Accountants Act and authorized to perform an audit engagement.

The types of reports, filing deadlines, and audit requirements by political participant are summarized below.
