Chief Electoral Officer Releases Volume III of the 2019 Provincial General Election Report

EDMONTON – Alberta’s Chief Electoral Officer, Glen Resler, released the third volume of his report on the 2019 Provincial General Election today. This volume reports on the election finances activities of all political participants in the 2019 Provincial General Election.
The Provincial General Election was held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Elections Alberta registered a total of 1,294 political participants for the Election, comprising 13 political parties, 710 nomination contestants, 541 candidates and 30 election third party advertisers.
All participants were required to report their election finances to Elections Alberta, with 93% meeting their filing deadlines. With spending limits in place for the first time, all participants were required to provide detailed reporting on the funds they raised and spent during their campaign.
The first two volumes of the 2019 Election Report were released on March 16, 2020, and included information on the election event, statistics, costs, recommendations and poll‑by-poll results.
