2024 By-Election

The Lethbridge-West by-election has been called. Election Day is Wednesday, December 18, 2024.


Eligibility

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

  • a Canadian citizen
  • at least 18 years of age on Election Day
  • ordinarily resident in the electoral division of Lethbridge-West

Use “Where Do I Vote?” or “Find My MLA” to determine if your residential address is located within this electoral division.


Register to Vote

Registering to vote ahead of time makes the voting process faster and easier, because you won’t have to register at the polls.

Electors already on the List of Electors at their current address do not have to register at the voting place.

Ensure you are registered by adding or updating your information online using Voterlink .


Ways You Can Vote

There is a voting option available every day of the election period. Electors may choose from the following voting options:

  • Election Day: On Wednesday, December 18, vote in person at your assigned voting location. All voting locations will be open from 9:00am to 8:00pm.
  • Advance Voting: From Tuesday, December 10, to Saturday, December 14, electors may vote at any of the advance voting locations in Lethbridge-West.
  • Vote in Returning Office: If you’re unable to vote at an advance or Election Day location, you can vote at your local Returning Office. Offices are open starting November 20 through to December 18. Office hours are from 9:00am to 6:00pm weekdays, 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays, and 9:00am to 8:00pm on voting days.
  • Vote by Mail: If you’re not able to vote in person, electors may apply for a Special Ballot.

Candidates

Candidate nominations are now open. Candidates have until 2:00pm on Saturday, November 30 to submit their nomination papers. Once nominated, candidates will be listed here.
